Welcome to my Creative Journey

My name is Erika and I’m a self-taught illustration and surface pattern designer. I’ve been drawing since I was a kid and my dreams of sharing my art with the world are finally coming true! 

Erika Right True Studio was born out of a need to share my point of view with others. My art is filled with self-affirming phrases of empowerment paired with imagery of black women in all of our many facets. My goal is to create happy images filled with nostalgia and infused with my love for food, style and hair.

I want to share my point of view with the world and to show others how I found my artistic voice. This blog will be a place to share my creative process, the things that bring me joy, what I’ve learned, what I’m learning, and how YOU can grow as an artist as well!
